Tracking methane in the atmosphere with satellite imagery

Methane emissions and more specifically methane leaks are being discussed at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai. Reducing their prevalence is relatively straightforward, thanks to low-cost leak detection technologies. Until now, the extent of the problem was unknown, but satellite imagery is helping shed light on who the world's "super emitters" are, as well as the number of daily mega-leaks. FRANCE 24's Science Editor Julia Sieger tells us more.
