Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine a year ago has caused the prices of chemical fertilisers to soar, with serious consequences for the agricultural sector. The price of gas, essential for manufacturing the products, has also skyrocketed. The EU used to import nearly half of its chemical fertilisers from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. As the Paris Agriculture Fair gets underway, French farmers are becoming increasingly concerned about their future, while others are taking measures into their own hands to find cleaner solutions.
