Rise of drones, 'grassroots' arms innovation: Ukrainian society takes war to Putin 'with technology'

Ukraine struck Russian oil refineries in a second day of heavy drone attacks on Wednesday, causing a fire at Rosneft's biggest refinery in one of the most serious attacks against Russia's energy sector in recent months. Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted the attacks were an attempt to disrupt a presidential election this week. Russia and Ukraine have both used drones to strike critical infrastructure, military installations and troop concentrations in their more than two-year war, with Kyiv stepping up attacks on Russian refineries and energy facilities in recent months. For in-depth analysis and a deeper perspective on Russia's brutal two-year war on Ukraine, and the role hi-tech weaponized drones have played, FRANCE 24's François Picard, Douglas Herbert and Gulliver Cragg are joined by Maria Berlinska, Head of the Victory Drones project and Director of the Aerial Reconnaissance Support Centre and Olena Tregub, Secretary General of the Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee at Transparency International (NAKO).
