Sardinia locust invasion: Insect plague destroying hundreds of thousands of hectares

An invasion of locusts is causing alarm on the island of Sardinia. They appeared in 2019 due to global warming and the number of fields that have been abandoned, resulting in uncontrollable reproduction. This year, as the summer season starts, the phenomenon is causing concern for the authorities.
