Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrapped up a triumphant diplomatic offensive in Hiroshima on Sunday, heading home bearing new arms, munitions and the "unwavering" diplomatic support of G7 allies. He leveraged the powerful symbolism of Hiroshima, synonymous with the horrors of war, to press partners and sceptics alike to back his defence against Russia's 15-month onslaught. For more analysis and a deeper perspective of Zelensky's whirlwind tour of allies that began across Europe and concluded at the G7 in Hiroshima, FRANCE 24 is joined by Dr Tristen Naylor, Author, Lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Cambridge. He's an expert in international summits and diplomacy, focusing on the G7 and G20. While Ukraine was at the top of the agenda, China remains of great concern. Dr. Naylor points out that the "relationship between the G7 and China is a multifaceted one: Sometimes it's about cooperation, sometimes it's about contestation."
