Italy's Lampedusa migrant centre faces state of "emergency"

Italy’s right-wing government has declared a six-month state of emergency to help it cope with a sharp rise in the number of migrants arriving on its shores. Since January, the country has seen nearly 4 times the number of arrivals as the same period last year. A ship carrying around 700 people is expected to dock in the port of Catania this Wednesday while another boat carrying about 400 is also in need of rescue. FRANCE 24's Alison Sargent tells us more.
