EU countries urge more checks for COVID variants given surge in China

Spain has become the latest country to require travellers from China to test negative for Covid-19 or to be fully vaccinated. It follows measures in Italy requiring testing for every passenger from China, and puts more pressure on the EU to take coordinated action. Some European experts, however, don't see the point of more screening. Peter O'Brien explains.
