FRANCE 24 talks to French athlete Anouk Garnier, who this week achieved the feat of scaling up to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower on a free-hanging rope. The 34-year-old Frenchwoman scaled 110 metres, around 361 feet, in just 18 minutes. She has now beaten both the world record – previously held by South African Thomas Van Tonder, who climbed 90 metres between the Soweto Towers in Johannesburg four years ago – and the women’s record of 85 metres held by Ida Matilde, who climbed the Copenhagen Opera House.
